The Ozark Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure would like to welcome you to the second annual Shadow Valley Showcase of Homes. The Showcase is scheduled for the first two weekends of October 2010 (Oct. 8-10 & 15-17). We’re pleased to have the opportunity to partner with the Premier Builders and a growing and outstanding NWA community.

The Showcase will include fully furnished and decorated homes at one location. Attendance is projected to range from 4,500 to 6,000 during the event. The Showcase of Homes will offer a variety of activities, including a VIP Wine & Cheese Party, Taste of Northwest Arkansas Parties, Junior Tennis Night, Golf Outing, etc.

The Ozark Affiliate has an eight county service area that is made up of Benton, Boone, Carroll, Crawford, Madison, Newton, Sebastian, and Washington counties. Annually, up to 75% of the net income remains in the Ozark Affiliate service are to fund local breast health education, screening and treatment projects. A minimum of 25% supports the National Susan G. Komen for the Cure grants programs. This year $750,000 has been granted to 13 agencies.

The reason why we organize events like the Showcase is to honor a Promise. Nancy G. Brinker promised her dying sister, Susan G. Komen, that she would do everything in her power to end breast cancer forever. In 1982, that promise became Susan G. Komen for the Cure, and launched the global breast cancer movement. Today, Komen for the Cure is the world’s largest grassroots network of breast cancer survivors and activists fighting to save lives, empower people, ensure quality care for all and energize science to find the cures. Thanks to events like the Shadow Valley Showcase of Homes, we have invested nearly $1 billion to fulfill our promise, becoming the largest source of nonprofit funds dedicated to the fight against breast cancer in the world.
